A macro shot of a dandelion whose seeds have been half blown from the original flower by the wind. The black and white image is very detailed, and you can see the individual seeds that are still clinging to it. “Bleeding” is a macro shot of bleeding heart blossoms in full bloom. One blossom is the main focal point in the picture, the thick stem protruding from somewhere above. At prominent points along the stem, buds have burst forth into hearts of varying shades of pink from an almost red to the palest shell pink, which fade into the background of green. The veins in the flower are visible, as well as the indentation that defines the petals in its perfect form. Sunlight dapples on them playfully as a single drop of blood seems to roll off the bottom of the blossom, which gives the bleeding heart is appropriate name. “Blue Iris” is a macro shot of an iris in full bloom. It is the main focal point in the picture, the thick stem protruding from somewhere beneath. At prominent points along the stem, buds are trying to burst forth from their thin casings and bloom into another full beautiful blossom like the one perched at the summit. “Clustered” is a macro shot of a group of white flowers in full bloom. One large cluster dominates the view, with smaller clusters fading into the background. The individual flowers in the cluster are in tight formation, a pattern that starts with small blue-tinged puffs that get larger as they circle out and burst into flowers with two smaller petals on top and two larger petals on the bottom, shaped almost like a bow that someone has tied on the back of a dress or an old fashioned bow tie. “Droplets Abstract” is a black and white macro shot of two leaves overlapping each other. One leaf covers the top third of the print, with the cellular structure of the leaf becoming visible. The dandelion fluff has carried the seed upon the wind, which obviously has been stopped by a spider that placed its web in a precarious location. The dappled light in the background provides interest and contrast. The seed's shape looks like a ballerina slipper, and the little ball of fluff at the other end makes it seem as though it has been dressed in its own little tutu and flitted about in the wind, maybe to the tune of Sugarplum Fairies.
